It’s the Monsoon season and you’re probably going to face an unpredictable downpour pretty often. So what happens if you’re having your extensions on and it starts to rain? Will it damage the extensions?
In the event you’re wearing the extensions and it happens to drizzle, it’s still fine. A few droplets of rainwater will not substantially damage the extensions.
However, if the rain happens to be a shower or worst heavy downpour, you’re running a very big risk of damaging the extensions, PERMENANTLY. Rainwater strips the moisture & elasticity out of hair extensions completely, leaving them to look dry, knotted and lifeless even if they happen to get wet under rain just ONCE.(If our own hair can become stiff and frizzy from rain water, what more hair extensions). There is no way you can restore it to be bouncy, silky and smooth if it happens to be synthetic hair. For human hair, there are still ways to recover the damage.
f you happen to get caught in the rain, tie your hair into a tight bun(make sure its secured with a rubber band or hair clip) and immediately try to seek a shelter so that you can minimize the exposure to rain water. This way, at least the rainwater will not be directly in contact with the entire hair and you can minimize the damage.
Carrying an umbrella especially during this period is the best thing you can do to ensure your extensions are safe at all times. Enjoy having beautiful hair but don’t forget to safeguard your precious tresses.
